Sports Medicine FAQS

The main difference is training and knowledge. Sports medicine chiropractors with the credentials (MSc, CCSP, or ICCSP) have undergone advanced study and training in sports medicine to diagnose, treat, and understand the complex biomechanics that go into athletic movements.

To find a sports medicine chiropractor with specific training and skills related to sports medicine look for either a sports medicine masters degree (MSc), a CCSP (certified chiropractic sports physician) certificate, or an ICCSP (internationally certified chiropractic sports practitioner) certificate. There are no regulations on chiropractors calling themselves “sports medicine” chiropractors so be sure to look for these degree and certificate indicators of accredited knowledge and experience.

We treat athletes of all ages! Young athletes have unique risks of injury when it comes to sports due to their developing muscles and skeleton that our sports medicine chiropractors understand, and can educate their caregivers on to reduce risk of injury. If you have questions or concerns bring your young athlete in for evaluation as lingering sports injuries in youth can progress if left untreated.
